We have an infinite range of solutions to set up your garden room to your exact requirements. Whether you want a garden office with full access to the internet, a workshop that needs to be electrically on point, or a summer house with beautiful and inventive lighting, we can deliver it.
It could be you need a simple heater, or just a few sockets to run all your electrical accessories, or the very latest in LED lighting that can be run through an app on your phone. We can make it happen.
If you need a phone line, a hard-wire internet connection or any type of TV and Sky cabling, we can install it. We can even hang your TV on the wall, fit speakers in the ceiling and conceal all the wiring.
Installing electricity in a garden room is a key component of the complete package we offer. We want you to enjoy the maximum benefit of your new garden room and to feel completely at home there.
Our site survey will include a fixed quotation for all your electrical needs. With a team of electricians boasting more than 50 years' experience between them, we know we can get you connected.
As well as the internal electrics, we can install external lights with dusk sensors, climate control and any heating solution you want. We'll also ensure your installation is signed off as conforming to the latest regulations.
You bring the ideas and we'll supply the know-how and expertise to make them come to life.
Submain
This is the main electrical cable that connects the fuse box in your house to the one in your garden room. It is either dug in to a depth of 450mm, run under paving or attached to a brick wall - never a timber fence.
It is put in as a TT installation, which means it has a separate earthing rod by the building for safety.
Alternatively, if you have smaller power requirements you can have a minor works installation that can come from a socket in your house and run in a similar way.
Communications
We usually run a strung pipe along with the submain cable that can hold CAT5 and any other cabling required. The CAT5 comes straight from the router in your house and straight into a socket in the garden room.
Whether you are using your new garden building for work or for leisure, it is hard to imagine doing so without a really robust Wi-Fi connection.
Maybe you want to run your own business from a garden office, or plan to install an entertainment centre in a garden lounge or poolside room. Whatever use you are going to put your new building to, you will need Wi-Fi.
To make this possible, we can include a single super-fast internet socket and Wi-Fi bubble - or we can give you multiple socket points in the room.
We can connect you to your existing telephone line or, if you decide to have a separate business line, we can make sure that works for you too.
Most clients opt for a CAT cable that goes into your house, creating a Wi-Fi bubble in and around your garden building.
This ensures a really robust connection that allows you to stream videos and enjoy a super-fast link to the digital world.
When you want to watch your favourite programmes in your new garden room, we have the televisual solution for you.
We can set up any TV connection you need, whether it's a regular roof aerial to a host of digital providers including Sky.
Sky Q can be installed directly into your garden room or through a single booster box using a CAT5 cable.
As well as the TV fitting service that will make sure you are up and running, we also take care of the sound too.
We offer Sonos sound systems, which can even be added to your existing house network.
When it comes to audio or visual, you tell us what you want and how you want to enjoy it and we'll fit the appropriate equipment for you.
The advances in home automation in recent years have been genuinely exciting - and at Bakers Garden Buildings we've kept pace with the innovation in this field.
Satisfied customers have told us they believe our solution was the 'best design ever'.
We can set up all your lighting and sockets to run off an app. Quinetic has designed an amazing product with seemingly infinite possibilities - and we are now also offering a simpler solution we call 'Smart Light'.
However, we are always on the lookout for solutions on the market that may be even better. We will talk you through all the options and make sure you end up with what is right for you.
Now you can use your phone like a remote to turn lights on and off from your house. You can also set up certain lights to switch on at particular times simply by saying, for instance: 'When it gets to dusk, stay on for three hours.'
Our team can retro-fit this to your house, which opens up a world of possibilities. You can turn off your iron from anywhere on the planet; you can open the garage door as you arrive home from work; you can even lock all kitchen sockets before you get up at the weekend so your young children are safe from harm.
When Bakers Garden Buildings create your garden room, summer house or garden office, all the walls are produced with cavities that allow you to run in hidden cabling once the building is installed.
That means you can wait until your garden building is in place before deciding where you want your sockets, heating and lighting.
It's our proud boast that we've never built the same garden room twice. That's because every room is constructed to each client's exact specifications - and that includes the location of sockets, heating and lighting.
The LED lighting we install is so low powered that you can run all your internal and external lighting for your garden room for the same cost as one old 100w bulb.
When it comes to air conditioning, our inverter climate control units cost less to run in summer and winter than a regular heater for the winter. Which means you are cooling the room free of charge.
